Workshop: Questionnaire Development, Tbilisi Georgia, February 3 - Benjamin A.T. Graham (ENG)
Questionnaire Development Workshop Wednesday, February 3, 4:30 - 6:30 CRRC, Zandukeli 16 In this workshop we will go through a draft questionnaire, line by line. This is the best way of teaching how to design a quality questionnaire. If you're interested in how survey research works, you should seriously consider attending this workshop. The event will be facilitated by Aaron Erlich and Hans Gutbrod. The questionnaire will be circulated to committed participants in advance. Please RSVP to nana+events@crrccenters.org. More background: the research is conducted by Benjamin A.T. Graham, Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science, University of California, San Diego. Ben's research examines what type of foreign firms are willing and able to succeed in making direct investments in post-conflict states. Here is what Ben writes: "I am using Georgia as a central case study in this project and examining the following two sub-questions: 1. Among foreign firms that registered to do business in Georgia between 2005-2007, what type of firms were able to survive the 2008 war and the global financial crisis and are still doing business in Georgia today? 2. What type of foreign firms have registered to do business in Georgia in the year after the conflict ended (September 2008-September 2009)? Are the characteristics of these firms different than those that entered in the pre-conflict period? We will conduct in-person interviews with a random sample of 300 pre-conflict entrants and with all 80 foreign firms that have registered in the post-conflict period." Again, this is a great way to learn how to get a questionnaire on track. For your convenience and to see the questionnaire in advance, please RSVP to nana+events@crrccenters.org. |
